To the Saeed Abedini Family;
Be encouraged in the Lord today! Jesus Christ has all authority in Iran.
I first heard of your faith and faithfulness in the Gospel in 2009. I received an email asking for prayer as Saeed was soon to stand before the Iranian court. The news came to me at a time when I was reading through testimonies of many who had held their faith in Jesus to the very end. And I prayed, “Oh Lord, what fellowship are you having with Saeed right now! Grant him every measure of grace and faith needed for this hour that his joy in You would be full, and that this trouble would prove to be fruitful. Have mercy on Saeed. Sanctify us. Your will be done.”
This song was written in and for that season of waiting to stand trial. Praise God for Jesus’ words which lead us! “When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit” (Mark 13:11).
As I wrestled through putting my heart and mind into your life for those days, this song came together as my prayer to God for you and your family, for my own affections, and for the edification of us all. I finished the song, printed it, and the very next moment received an email - “Update on Saeed”. You had been released.
I mention that timeline to encourage you that the Lord is working many kingdom things in this current timeline. Trust His timing. It will be most fruitful. The days of waiting in 2009 served to work out a measure of fear and trembling in my own sanctification as I was watching yours. Thank you for leading.
Be encouraged! Your “waiting” in the Lord is not in vain!
We, the brothers, pray Godspeed, Saeed.

GODSPEED SAEED
Jason Harms
The courts have tried another man - Saeed.
Husband, father, brother man - Saeed.
It’s rare if Christians in Iran can be free;
Other souls have died for voicing their creed.
Where it’s ruled factious to proclaim:
"Your sins are clean in Jesus' name."
No, a murderer is viewed the same -
Saeed.
Will he fear the courts of man? Will he?
End his life, the Judge, he can. Will he?
"The charge is that you have enticed. What’s your plea?"
"Your Honor, you should love this Christ." "Blasphemy!"
What better way can a man say
That there’s life to gain, indeed,
Than to love though he may bleed?
Saeed.
“When they drag you 'fore the courts, then anxious, do not be.
That hour, say what's given thee…”
Brother Saeed.
We, the brothers, pray Godspeed,
Saeed.
